GO WILDCATS!!!

Lineman #80 backing away from the line making himself a lineBACKER!

Not sure you can see it but green #68's last name is MUENNICH running beside orange #80MINNICH both said the same - just thought that was kinda neat,

What a stud!?

Full black socks to the left of the ball carrier. He was in on this tackle.

We are proud parents of an Anderson Wildcat - (CCYL football)- player!
Owen is playing football this year and so far he loves it although, he told me recently that he didn't like the games any more because they keep losing. This is the first thing he has ever done that has had a winner and a loser. T-ball and AA baseball don't keep score and there is no score in dance. So this is his first experience of losing and he doesn't like it. He doesn't even like to lose when they have to run at football. He was so excited because last night he finally came in first! He told Kirk," I just kinda stayed behind 'player X' till the very end and then I just zipped past him. " We don't know who player X is but he beats Owen every practice, and Owen doesn't know who he is either. But it is our new goal to find out who this mystery player is, who knows maybe he doesn't even play on his team but is a 2nd grader lost from his own practice - this is what Owen would like to believe. So the team hasn't been fairing very well but the teams that beat them run this funky bunched up offense where everyone is shoulder to shoulder and it is hard to tell where the ball is, which is the trick of course, and obviously a good one because it works against us. Owen plays, well, just about everywhere on the line both offense and defense, except the center. He would LOVE to run the ball but probably wont this year. He tries to be very sneaky on defense and backs away from the line and run behind everyone to get to the ball carrier - which is basically a linebacker but he is a lineman. I think it is his subtle way of playing where he would rather play. On the offensive line he just stands there and blocks his one guy and doesn't let go and I have many pictures to back this up. Last Sunday he got 3 tackles by himself enough that they announced "Owen Minnich on the tackle" and they even said our name right - which seems to be a huge issue to Owen. At the beginning of the season they were saying it just like it looks and where it rhymes with spinach and then some how it got shortened to Minch which really bothered him and then set him off when after the first game one of the other players even called him Minch. He got so mad, and even ignored the coaches a bit when they said it wrong, I had to go up to the coach and tell him how to say it. Needless to say he is now MINNICH (K) :)
